Rachel Renée Russell’s children’s book series Dork Diaries is going to be on screens someday soon: Summit Entertainment just acquired film rights to the bestselling series.
The books follow “dork” Nikki Maxwell, an eighth grader who chronicles her high-drama middle school life in a diary with a combination of words and drawings.
“Summit Entertainment bringing Dork Diaries to life is a dream come true!” Russell said in a statement. “My fans and I are super excited to see Nikki Maxwell and her dorky world come to life.”
Karen Rosenfelt, known for her work on the Twilight movies, is in talks to produce the film.
