Still reeling from a certain character’s untimely exit on Sunday night’s Once Upon A Time? If you were among the group of Once-ers hoping that [spoiler] would return somewhere down the line in the story, it looks like that person is gone for good. The actor in question took to Twitter to explain why [spoiler] had to go.

Check out the series of tweets below, but proceed with caution if you haven’t watched Sunday’s Once Upon A Time as there are major spoilers ahead!

Once Upon A Time  said a tearful goodbye to series regular Neal (Michael Raymond-James) but, if you were holding out hope that there would be a way to resurrect Henry’s father, don’t hold your collective breaths– showrunners Eddy Kitsis and Adam Horowitz have spoken and assured fans that Neal is gone for good, and he won’t be coming back.

Actor Michael Raymond-James took to Twitter to address his exit from the show, his support for Eddy and Adam’s decision to “tell bold stories,” and to set the record straight on rumors that he had asked to leave the show or had been fired.

#Oncers, mahalo for all the kind words. With so many rumors, I’ve decided to break radio silence to set the record straight on a few things

1) I did not ask to leave the show. Nor was I fired. Neal’s death was nothing more than a bold storytelling choice. As an actor I always

want to tell bold stories #OUAT

2) I have never in my life, trashed, destroyed, or otherwise damaged any trailer what so ever.

That one is ridiculous, and I hate to have to even address it, but there it is

— MichaelRaymond-James (@MRaymondJames) March 31, 2014

I have made lifelong friends from this show that work both in front of and behind the camera. For that I am forever grateful. #OUAT

I have nothing but love and the utmost respect for everyone that works on the show. From My cast mates and crew to the network on down #OUAT

3) Despite some silly guesses by some, I was not in Vancouver recently to shoot a new pilot. That was absolutely false.

When I decide what comes next I will let everyone know here. So stay tuned…

I will always be a #Oncer. Thank you so much for your passion. Stay tuned and #SpreadLove. Peace
