'Game of Thrones' ratings rise after last week's shocker

Game Of Thrones Cersei Jaime

Game of Thrones ratings bounced up for the third episode of the season and matched the series-high viewership for the HBO hit.

Sunday night 6.6 million viewers tuned in for the 9 p.m. airing (Thrones recap), up 5 percent from last week’s wedding shocker and tying the record-setting fourth season premiere. Another 1.6 million watched the two replays.

Meanwhile, HBO’s post-Thrones comedy block of Silicon Valley and Veep both took a slight dip, with Mike Judge’s latest delivering 1.6 million / 2.1 million and Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ comedy posting 775,000 / 1.3 million. Both shows don’t have to worry, however, they were just renewed for a second and fourth season, respectively.
