'Star Wars: Episode VII': Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher send first tweets

The Force is strong on Twitter.

Luke and Leia – that’s Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher when we’re not in a galaxy far, far away – took to Twitter to express their excitement over joining J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars: Episode VII. Maybe too much excitement on Fisher’s part, actually.

On Wednesday, the actress posted this tweet with a link to the official cast announcement:

Fans were aghast that their beloved Princess of Alderaan would screw up Star Wars lingo. She quickly corrected herself in the most Carrie Fisher way possible:

And then adorably blamed her pooch for the mistake:

Hamill, meanwhile, took the cheerleader route in his post:

Note to Abrams: Please don’t put the kibosh on the cast’s social media use once production is in full swing!
