Justin Bieber has been accused of attempted robbery, and now the Los Angeles Police Department is investigating.
According to reports, the incident happened around 10:30 p.m. on Monday. The LAPD is interviewing the alleged victim, but has not sought the Canadian pop singer for questioning.
The LAPD would not confirm any further details to EW. TMZ reports that a San Fernando Valley woman claims Bieber attempted to steal her phone, believing she took photos of him during an altercation with a group of men. According to the report, the 20-year-old confronted the woman at Sherman Oaks Castle Park, a miniature golf and batting cage complex, demanding to see her phone so he could erase any photos. She refused; Bieber went into her purse and grabbed it. When he couldn’t unlock the phone, the woman showed him no pictures had been taken.
Bieber is already scheduled to go on trial for driving under the influence charges in Florida, and is awaiting trial for a misdemeanor assault charge in Toronto. In February, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department began investigating Bieber after he allegedly egged a neighbor’s home. That case carries possible felony vandalism charges because damages totaled $20,000.
