Bill Hader signs on for HBO comedy

Great news for anyone still rewinding Stefon’s wedding: EW can confirm that former Saturday Night Live cast member Bill Hader has inked a development deal with HBO. He’ll be creating and starring in a new comedy for the pay cable net. Deadline first reported the news.

Additional details on the project are scarce for now, but even those who can’t tell Vinny Vedecci from Vince Blight should consider word of it exciting: Hader has an impressive comedy resume, including eight years on SNL, an Emmy for his worth on South Park (Hader served as a consultant writer on the long-running animated series from 2008-2009), guest appearances on comedies including The Mindy Project and Bob’s Burgers, and roles in a variety of upcoming films, including the Amy Schumer-penned, Judd Apatow-directed Trainwreck. Also, he’s got a knack for Star Wars impressions:
