“Accidentally artificially inseminated” sounds more like the hook of a Saturday Night Live sketch than the premise of an upcoming CW series. For doubters, the network has released an extended trailer for the upcoming dramedy Jane the Virgin, which tries to sell the show a little more strongly than simply saying, “trust us.”

Based on the popular Venezuelan telenovela Juana la Virgen, the U.S. version of Jane stars Gina Rodriguez (Filly Brown) as a hard-working, devout Latina who is kind of hoping her boyfriend proposes — though she’s a little worried he’ll get down on one knee so she’ll finally agree to do the deed. When a mix-up at the OB-GYN leads to that artificial insemination plot line, Jane must choose whether to keep the baby — and whether to let the handsome father into her life.

Check out the extended trailer below:

Jane the Virgin will air Mondays at 9 p.m. ET on the CW this fall.
