After the unlikely duo paired up for 2010’s The Other Guys, Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell are in talks to co-star in Daddy’s Home, which could begin production as early as this fall. The film pits an eager stepfather (Ferrell) against a wild biological father (Wahlberg), as both compete for the love of the children in question. Vince Vaughn was previously circling the pic when Etan Cohen was attached to direct. We’re the Millers scribes Sean Anders and John Morris (who are directing Horrible Bosses 2) are now the likely directors. [Deadline]

• Rose Leslie (Game of Thrones) and Justin Bartha (The Hangover) have joined the indie film Sticky Notes, about a backup dancer who returns to Florida to care for her cancer-stricken father (Ray Liotta). Screenwriter Amanda Harlib is making her directorial debut on the project, which is currently in production in New Orleans. [THR]

• Rose Byrne is being eyed for a role in The Something, about astronauts who get lost in space. She’d be re-teaming with her Neighbors producers and studio (Universal) if she signs on. [THR]

• Djimon Hounsou (Gladiator) has signed on to play Chief Mbonga in Tarzan. He’ll co-star alongside Alexander Skarsgard and Margot Robbie in the David Yates pic. [Deadline]

• James Ransone (Inside Man) will play John Travolta‘s son in Ti West’s In a Valley of Violence. The pic stars Ethan Hawke as a drifter seeking revenge against the people who murdered his friend. Taissa Farmiga and Karen Gillan also star in the Blumhouse Western. [Deadline]
