Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum are heading back to school (college this time) on Friday in 22 Jump Street. Our cover men took a break from the books (and partying) to chat with Entertainment Weekly editor Matt Bean for a Town Hall on EW Radio SiriusXM 105 that premieres Friday, at 7 p.m. ET.
During the chat, Bean asked Tatum about a supposed bet he and Hill made about how much 21 Jump Street would make opening weekend. “I should have never uttered this to a journalist as a joke,” Tatum said, kicking himself. “It caught fire like we actually made this real bet.” Hill predicted $30 million, Tatum predicted $35 million; the film made around $36 million. “If he ever pisses me off, I’m definitely collecting,” Tatum quipped.
The duo also discussed working with Ice Cube and performing (and evading) their own stunts, and played “Who Said It,” in which they listened to lines from each other’s movies and had to guess which movies the lines were from. Tatum beat Hill three to two-and-a-half. (Hill got half a point for knowing a director but not the film – curse you Side Effects!)
