Like mana at the beginning of a turn, Bryan Cogman has been tapped for an important purpose.

Deadline reports that 20th Century Fox has brought in Cogman, a Game of Thrones producer and story editor, to script a movie based on the popular Magic: The Gathering fantasy card game.  Fox acquired the rights to the card game last January, and the potential film will be produced by Hasbro and Fox-based producer Simon Kinberg.

The details of the film’s story aren’t yet available, but Cogman has a lot of  lore to work with – the card game literally takes place in a multiverse! And with expansions released ever since 1993, there are plenty of opportunities for retcons, spinoffs, and a potential franchise. Still, we all know that we want a movie about Jace Beleren, because Jace is awesome and – okay – maybe a little overpowered. But c’mon, blue decks are clearly the best anyway.

Speaking of which: Zachary, you “borrowed” my Avatar of Will during recess in 4th grade and you still haven’t given it back. I’m not about to forget about this.
