Netflix has assembled a massive cast for Sense8, the newest sweeping sci-fi project from Andy and Lana Wachowski and J. Michael Straczynski.
EW has confirmed that Daryl Hannah, Naveen Andrews (Lost), and Brian J. Smith (Stargate Universe, Broadway’s The Glass Menagerie) are among the 14-person international ensemble, first reported by Deadline.
The sprawling 10-episode series (first reported back in March 2013) tells the story of eight characters around the world who suddenly become telepathically linked following a tragic death. The central eight will be played by Smith, Miguel Silvestri, South Korean actress Doona Bae, American actress Jamie Clayton, German actor Max Riemelt, Indian actress Tena Desae, and English actors Tuppence Middleton (Jupiter Ascending) and Aml Ameen (The Maze Runner).
A handful of other actors from across the globe will also appear, including English actress Freema Agyeman (Doctor Who), Mexican actors Alfonso Herrera and Erendira Ibarra, and American actor Terrence Mann (Les Miserables).
The series is expected to hit Netflix in 2015. Production will film in Chicago, San Francisco, London, Iceland, Seoul, Mumbai, Berlin, Mexico City, and Nairobi.
