After his miraculous game Tuesday, U.S. Men’s National Team goalkeeper Tim Howard quickly became a folk hero.

Case in point: Someone edited Wikipedia’s entry on the United States Secretary of Defense to say this:

Someone changed the US Secretary of Defence on Wikipedia to Tim Howard. Fantastic. pic.twitter.com/haPrHWPLjx

The entry was quickly changed back by someone with no sense of true patriotism. Still, it’s one of many online celebrations of Howard, who made 16 saves (a record number) despite Team USA’s loss. A petition has sprung up on the White House’s website, calling for the government to change the name of DC’s Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport to “Tim Howard National Airport.” “Whereas Tim Howard has shown himself to be a national treasure, Minister of Defense, Friend of Joe Biden…” the petition begins.

Several Twitter users came up with their own ways to commemorate Howard, hailing everything from his similarity to a certain impenetrable structure in Game of Thrones…

…to the awards he deserves to receive.

Others got straight to the point.
