IFC orders a follow-up to 'The Spoils of Babylon'

Spoils Of Babylon

(IFC)

IFC announced today that it has ordered The Spoils Before Dying, a six-episode sequel to the Funny or Die-produced The Spoils of Babylon that will air next summer.

Executive producer Will Ferrell will return onscreen as Eric Jonrosh, the author/director/writer/fabulist/wine fan who opens and closes each episode. The Spoils Before Dying, which is based on the fictional writer’s first bestselling novel, chronicles the exploits of a jazz pianist-turned-private eye in the 1950s who finds himself entangled in a murder investigation that “spins out of control and leads him down paths—romantic and otherwise—he never expected.”

The miniseries will boast a celebrity cast to be named later. The Spoils of Babylon, which wrapped its six-episode run in February, recruited a diverse and notable group of thespians that included Tobey Maguire, Kristen Wiig, Tim Robbins, Jessica Alba, Val Kilmer, Michael Sheen, and Haley Joel Osment.
