Hilary Duff is back—and she sounds a lot like Sheryl Crow.

Duff’s new single—her first in six years—is the reggae-infused, straight-outta-2003 “Chasing the Sun.” Although the song could easily fit in on her decade-old Metamorphosis, Colbie Caillat’s influence is apparent: The “Bubbly” singer co-wrote the song, which has the same beachy, easy sound as much of Caillat’s music.

The music video predictably matches that beachy vibe: Duff sits in her drab office cubicle, daydreaming about frolicking along the seashore with a shirtless man she spots in the pages of a magazine. She tries to play out those daydreams by splashing water on her coworkers as if they’re playing in the ocean and putting paper umbrellas in her coffee… and then getting fired. (Hey, at least she can go to the beach now.)

“Chasing the Sun” is the first single off Duff’s upcoming album. No release date or title is set yet.
