A Sharknado’s coming to Manhattan, and Matt Lauer and Al Roker are on the story.
Sharknado star Ian Ziering stopped by The Today Show this morning to chat about last summer’s ridiculous hit and the upcoming sequel: Sharknado 2: The Second One. And he brought along a new clip that features some of Today’s familiar faces.
According to Roker’s meteorological analysis, it looks like there will be two(!) Sharknados hitting Manhattan in the sequel, and that it’s possible they’ll merge somewhere on the Upper East Side, leading to a possible EF5 Sharknado.
After previewing the clip, Ziering also chatted with the hosts about working with Roker and Lauer and getting a bigger chainsaw this time around. And even though Ziering says the actors are in on the joke, he says the key is playing your role as seriously as possible.
“We’re very sure to stay in character, to experience the sharknado as though it was real,” Ziering said. “That’s what acting is.”
Sharknado 2: The Second One premieres July 30 at 9 p.m. ET on Syfy.
