Even when he’s not playing Jon Snow, Kit Harington is blindly pledging his life to the greater good and engaging in a futile conflict.
Lionsgate just released the trailer for Testament of Youth, a World War I-set romantic drama based on the memoir of the same name by Vera Brittain (Alicia Vikander). Her account follows the lives of the “Lost Generation,” specifically those of her brother and her fiancé Roland Leighton (Kit Harington), both of whom enlisted.
Brittain was also a pioneering journalist in an age when few women could pursue the career, as well as one of the few women to attend Oxford in that era. Vikander, a Swedish actress, has made a name for herself in similar costume dramas (from Anna Karenina to A Royal Affair). Also, this is a prime chance to appreciate a clean-shaven Jon Snow.
Testament of Youth is scheduled to arrive in British theaters in early 2015.
