Both Kevin Smith’s Tusk and ABCs of Death 2 will screen at this year’s Fantastic Fest, it was announced today as the genre festival unveiled its first wave of programming. This will be the U.S. premiere of Smith’s Justin Long-starring horror movie and the world premiere of the terror anthology sequel, which features contributions from filmmakers E.L. Katz (Cheap Thrills), Larry Fessenden (Beneath), and the Soska sisters (American Mary, the forthcoming See No Evil 2).
Other films to be screened at this year’s event include Australian director Jennifer Kent’s much buzzed-about The Babadook, another horror anthology sequel V/H/S Viral, and Kung Fu Elliot, which is described as “a hilarious and disturbing documentary about a man’s quest to become an international action star.”
The 10th annual Fantastic Fest takes place Sept. 18-25 in Austin, Tex. “My personal challenge each year is making Fantastic Fest the best week of the year for like-minded genre film obsessives,” said festival founder Tim League in a statement. “With the resonance of a round number anniversary, all reasonable fetters are discarded. In 2014, we are taking no prisoners. This festival is going to set new boundaries of decadence, destruction and debauchery.”
