Call a Doctor, the TARDIS is still leaking.
EW confirms another Doctor Who episode from the upcoming eighth season has leaked online. The second episode of the season, “Into the Dalek,” has been described as a black-and-white work-print.
This is less a new leak, however, than an extension of last month’s original leak. The first five scripts and the first six unfinished episodes were accidentally put onto a publicly accessible FTP site in July, but the BBC and cooperative fans managed to largely contain the spread of the video leak to only the first extended episode. But now the second episode has also popped up on pirate sites.
BBC America pointed to the BBC’s original statement on the matter: “While there is still a risk that this leak will result in more of this content emerging, so far the impact has been contained to a limited amount of this material through a combination of fans efforts and the plan that we put in place using new technology and internal manpower to limit any illegal activity. We would particularly like to thank the fansite moderators and Doctor Who devotees who have actively protected the programme. BBC Worldwide has taken this issue extremely seriously and disciplinary action has been implemented as a result of the incident.”
Meanwhile, Doctor Who is had its season premiere screening in New York City on Thursday night, where 900 tickets reportedly sold out in less than one minute. Doctor Who returns to BBC America on Aug. 23.
