Richard Branson to cameo on 'The Simpsons'

Richard Branson Simpsons

(Fox)

Last month at Comic-Con, producers of The Simpsons announced that Tesla mastermind Elon Musk would be dropping into Springfield this season to serve as a thorn in Mr. Burns’ financial side. Now it appears that another extremely rich dude is going to match wits with the town’s terrible tycoon. Virgin founder Richard Branson has recorded a cameo as himself for an upcoming episode of the animated comedy, EW has learned.

“Richard Branson is the Flanders to Mr. Burns,” executive producer Al Jean tells EW. “He’s Mr. Burns’ nosy neighbor.”

The episode featuring Branson—who was briefly depicted in a season 22 episode featuring another billionaire, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg—is slated to air early next year.

In addition to Branson, Nick Offerman, Sarah Silverman, David Hyde Pierce, Willem Dafoe, Jeff Ross, Jane Fonda, and the Futurama voice actors have contributed vocals to the show’s 26th season, which begins Sept. 28 on Fox.
