Over 25 years after Married… With Children helped launch Fox into a major player in the network television arena, the Bundy family may finally see a return to TV.

Sony Pictures Television is shopping around a potential spinoff series for Children, with David Faustino returning as Bud Bundy, who would be the show’s main character, according to The Hollywood Reporter. E! News first reported the news. Faustino has remained busy since the original series, primarily in voice over work, including most recently on The Legend of Korra. Faustino did add fuel to the fire, but did not officially announce the project, by posting about the possible show on his Facebook page.

There is no word yet on what networks may be interested in the project, nor whether any of the other original cast members would appear in some capacity. Faustino’s co-stars Ed O’Neill, Katey Sagal, and Christina Applegate have remained busy in the years since Children ended. Sagal’s time on Sons of Anarchy is drawing to a close, however, as that show enters its final season, while O’Neill will likely remain busy with Modern Family.

News of the spin off also follows the recent trend of TV revivals, including talks of a Full House reunion, an (unofficial) Saved by the Bell movie on Lifetime, and the debut, and success, of Girl Meets World.

A Sony Pictures Television representative did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
