Sarah Silverman’s return to her SNL roots has been 20 years in the making, but it’s clear that she still has a sense of humor about her short-lived stint on the show.

Taran Killam and Silverman play off each other with various non-sequiturs that SNL promos are known for, and Silverman pokes fun at the infamous sketches that that she pretends to take credit for, which include “Cowbell,” “Cheerleaders,” “the Californians,” “Ambiguously Gay Duo,” “Gilly,” and Tina Fey’s impersonation of Sarah Palin. The promos also mention a guy pooping in a bucket, Silverman’s “famous” SNL character, Table Girl, and her being the first female host of the season — out of two episodes, but who’s counting?

Silverman hosts Oct. 4 with Maroon 5 as musical guest.
