J.K. Rowling sent Twitter abuzz after posting a cryptic tweet on Monday that seemed to suggest something was brewing in the land of Hogwarts.
“Cry, foe! Run amok! Fa awry! My wand won’t tolerate this nonsense,” the tweet read, sending Potter fans into fits of frenzied anagram-deciphering.
Gawker thought it was a brunch order; Time set up an anagram solver for Potter fans. Leave it to the sleuths of Reddit to crack the code, as some observant Redditors came up with this very telling line:
“Harry returns. Won’t say any details now. A week off. No comment.”
Rowling previously tweeted about working on the screenplay to Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, a spin-off trilogy from the Hogwarts universe. However, the mere mention of Potter’s return hidden in 140 characters or less might mean the wizard’s tale may be far from over despite his relatively settled family life depicted in the book series’ epilogue. Perhaps Harry Potter and the Mid-Life Crisis is next on the docket? Potter fans may have to wait “a week” to see.
UPDATE: Potter fans can relax their wands; Rowlings tweeted out some more clues to what the much-aforementioned tweet meant – and they don’t have much to do with Harry Potter. False alarm, and Potter can go back to dropping his kids off at Platform 9 3/4 in peace.
UPDATE: Ding, ding, ding. We have a winner.
