MTV2 renews 'Wild 'N Out,' 'Guy Code,' adds more comedies

Wild N Out

(MTV)

MTV2 has renewed both Nick Cannon Presents: Wild ‘N Out, which will resume in Winter 2014 before premiering its seventh season in 2015, and Guy Code, which will return in 2015.

In addition to those pick-ups, the network also greenlit two additional comedies: MTV2’s Joking Off and Number 2 News (working title). Finally, the network announced that it’s developing a new talk show pilot, Uncommon Sense with Charlamagne, starring Charlamagne tha God from Guy Code. Check out a rundown of the new series below:

A press release describes MTV2’s Joking Off as “social media meets improv comedy.” The half-hour show will feature teams of young comedians competing in a game show, “delivering laugh out loud reactions to the most ridiculous tweets, Instagram images, videos and write-ups ever posted. The teams must avoid getting joked off before one comedian reigns supreme.”

Number 2 News will take “anything” from the Internet and try to make a funny news story out of it. According to the press release, “Stunts, animal videos, pranks and epic fails … it’s not exactly news, but we’re pretending it is. The series features the wildest clips in sports, weather, breaking stories and on the scene reporting.”

Uncommon Sense with Charlamagne will feature a panel of comedians and “social media-inspired packages” in order to curate “the loudest social media topics of the week.”

Premiere dates have not been set for the new series.
