Marion Cotillard is a woman desperately attempting to maintain her job in the trailer for the Dardenne brothers’ Two Days, One Night, a hit at recent film festivals. Cotillard plays Sandra, a woman who must convince her factory-working colleagues, who will lose their bonuses, to vote for her to stay employed.

The film has already received wide acclaim, and Cotillard’s performance as Sandra, who battles depression, has been acclaimed. The Guardian‘s review explained that “Cotillard is never less than superb in the role. She’s brittle and knackered, grubby and convincing. ”

The film is Belgium’s submission for Best Foreign Language Film at the Oscars.
