Fox wants its own version of Luther

Fox has given a put pilot commitment to an adaptation of the critically acclaimed BBC crime drama, EW has confirmed. Fans of the original should be reassured that it is set to be written and executive produced by Luther creator Neil Cross. Elba, who won a Golden Globe for playing the title role, is on board as an executive producer. Though the show finished up a third series in 2013, both Cross and Elba have expressed interest in a movie version.

Fox attempted another U.S. reboot of a critically acclaimed British show to middling results this season. Gracepoint, an adaptation of Broadchurch, had a muted critical response and has had low ratings.
