Hacker group threatens to reveal Sony Pictures' 'top secrets'

Hacked By Gop

The GOP—not the Republican Party, but a group called Guardians of Peace—has hacked into Sony Pictures and is now threatening to reveal the company’s secrets.

Sony Pictures employees logged on to their work computers Monday only to find a desktop background featuring an image of an ominous red skeleton glaring back at them, according to an image obtained by Business 2 Community (above), along with a written warning: “We’ve obtained all your internal data including your secrets and top secrets,” the note says. “If you don’t obey us, we’ll release data shown below to the world.”

It’s not clear what that data is or what they want Sony to do, but someone who claims to be one of the hackers told The Verge“We want equality. Sony doesn’t. It’s an upward battle.”

Sony Pictures told Deadline that they “experienced a system disruption” and “are working diligently to resolve.”
