Chris Martin: Coldplay's next album will be a final installment -- of sorts

Chris Martin told BBC Radio 1 that Coldplay’s next album will be titled A Head Full of Dreams, he also said it may be their last. At least, he said, the band is looking at it like the final installment in a series, like Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. (Chris Martin, such a dad.)

“It’s our seventh thing and the way we look at it is like the last Harry Potter book or something. Not to say there might not be another thing one day but this is the completion of something,” Martin said. He later added: “I have to think of it as the final thing we’re doing otherwise we wouldn’t put everything into it. Then we will go on tour.”

So while you may be tempted to start playing “Fix You” and weep, it’s probably fair to say that the book won’t be fully closed on Coldplay after this next album. Musicians have been known to be fickle about this type of thing. Just ask Cher.
