Comedy Bang! Bang!‘s Reggie Watts has gotten a network TV gig: Watts will be the bandleader on James Corden’s The Late Late Show, which will begin shows in March 2015.

CBS announced Friday that the comedian and musician was joining The Late Late Show—and it also announced that Corden’s start date has changed from March 9 to March 23 to allow for promotion of the show during the NCAA “March Madness” men’s basketball tournament. Additionally, CBS announced Tosh.0 co-creator Mike Gibbons as the show’s co-executive producer and head writer.

Hopefully Watts’s addition to The Late Late Show means it will feature segments along the lines of Watts’s web series Reggie Makes Music in which celebrity guests gleefully improvise songs alongside Watts. Comedy Bang! Bang! was renewed for a 40-episode fourth season to air in 2015.

Update: Comedy Bang! Bang!‘s Scott Aukerman tweeted out his congratulations to Watts and revealed that he will depart Comedy Bang! Bang! after the first half of 2015.

Congrats to my friend @reggiewatts for his transformation from fake bandleader into real one, in the talk show equivalent of Pinocchio.

Who will be the new bandleader? I can’t say yet but it’s very exciting. Please listen for newsies shouting on street corners in early 2015.
