Bob Marley’s 70th birthday year will be punctuated with tribute releases, honoring the statesman and reggae icon who died in 1981 with rare, unseen materials from the Marley family’s private collection. The first of them, Easy Skanking in Boston ’78, released Tuesday on Universal Music. Featuring two historic live shows from Boston’s Music Hall on June 8, 1978, the collection is available as a Blu-Ray/CD combo pack as well as DVD/CD and standalone CD versions.

The intimate footage was shot by a fan Bob Marley allowed in the front row using a handheld camera. Gaps in the live recording, from when the fan had to take to change rolls of tape, have been given special animated treatment created and directed by S77, the team behind recent projects and music videos for Bruno Mars, Pearl Jam, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

A trailer for the collection, the CD stream, and full track list are below.
