On Friday, Kanye West told Power 105.1’s Breakfast Club that his next release is 80 percent done.
The Yeezus follow-up will be made up of “bars, songs, [and] cookout music that just feels good,” West said. “My last album was a protest to music. I was like, ‘I’m gonna take my ball and go home’ … This album is embracing the music, joy. Being of service to the people. I just hope people like it and enjoy it,” he said.
Although he revealed his album is nearly done, West gave no release date. Perhaps taking a cue from Drake’s strategy, he said the album’s release will come as a surprise.
