Taylor Swift—musician, New York “welcome ambassador,” and life coach—is giving back to the city that’s been “waiting for you.” Swift has given $50,000 to New York City public schools, the NYC Department of Education confirmed to EW. Capital New York initially reported the donation.

“We’re deeply appreciative of this kind gesture to donate her proceeds of the single ‘Welcome to New York’ to benefit NYC public schools,” NYC DOE Press Secretary Devora Kaye said in a statement to EW

A spokeswoman for Swift assured that “this is not a one-time donation,” saying, “Taylor will continue to donate the proceeds she receives from the sale of the single “Welcome to New York” to NYC public schools.” Swift promised to make the donation back in October on The View
