Following the death of beloved Star Trek actor Leonard Nimoy, EW’s Jeff Jensen called into Entertainment Weekly Radio to remember Nimoy and his “passing of the torch” moment with Zachary Quinto.
Jensen spoke of the 2007 Comic-Con when Nimoy, Quinto, and J.J. Abrams appeared together after the Star Trek re-boot was announced. The moment made for a “beautiful passing of the torch moment” between the two actors.
“This character meant so much to him,” Jensen said. “The idea that it would endure meant so much to him, that passing of the torch off to another actor was a beautiful thing for him but a hard thing for him to do.”
