Balladeers Sam Smith and John Legend have joined forces to make beautiful music for a good cause. The two recorded a duet of Smith’s song “Lay Me Down” as the official single for the U.K.’s Red Nose Day, which benefits the charity Comic Relief

Smith begins the vocals, and then Legend joins in after the first chorus. The two will perform the song one time only during Comic Relief – Face the Funny, which will be broadcast live on BBC One. “‘Lay Me Down’ holds a very special place in my heart,” Smith said in a statement via Capitol Music group. “Not only did I perform it at the Brits, I’m now going to perform it live on the Red Nose Day show with the extremely talented John Legend, which is so exciting. I recently visited a Comic Relief funded project in my home town, which supports the young LGBT community in London. I’m extremely proud that my single will help raise money for projects like this and many others in the U.K. and across Africa.”

All proceeds of the song go to Comic Relief.
