Muse debuts moody new track 'Psycho' from upcoming album Drones

Muse news alert: The thunderous British rockers finally announced a release date for their upcoming seventh studio album Drones, due June 9—and today the band premiered a smoldering album track on its YouTube page that’s reminiscent of 2009’s Grammy-winningThe Resistance

“Psycho” is available for immediate download with any pre-order of the collection today; the official first single, “Dead Inside,” debuts later this month after a string of small-venue bookings in their native U.K. 

Little was known about the project before yesterday’s announcement, but Bellamy did say this in a press release: “ ‘To me, ‘Drones’ are metaphorical psychopaths which enable psychopathic behavior with no recourse. The world is run by Drones utilizing Drones to turn us all into Drones. Drones explores the journey of a human, from their abandonment and loss of hope, to their indoctrination by the system to be a human drone, to their eventual defection from their oppressors.”
