America Ferrera is set to star in and produce the NBC comedy pilot Superstore.

Superstore is described as a comedy about a disparate group of employees working at a big-box store in middle America, and the love story that will ultimately unfold among them, EW confirmed.

Ferrera will play Amy, who has been working at the store Cloud 9 for 10 years as a floor supervisor. Amy initially finds newbie Jonah (Ben Feldman, A to Z) off-putting, due to his unconsciously superior attitude and his clowning around on the job. But after a rocky start, the two bond as Jonah gets Amy to find more joy at work, and she starts to become infatuated with him.

Ferrera has recently focused on film with voice roles in How to Train Your Dragon and its sequel, as well as the films Our Family Wedding, Cesar Chavez, End of Watch and X/Y (which she also produced). She recently guest starred on CBS’ The Good Wife.

Superstore co-stars include Lauren Ash, Colton Dunn, Mark McKinney, Nico Santos and Nichole Bloom. Justin Spitzer (The Office) will write the script and executive produce Superstore with Ruben Fleischer, who will direct the pilot. David Bernad will also exec produce.
