William Petersen, best known for playing Gil on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, is returning to TV as a series regular in the second season of WGN’s Manhattan.

Petersen nabbed a Golden Globe nod in 2004 for his performance on CSI, which he starred on for 10 years from 2003 to 2013. On Manhattan, he’ll be playing Colonel Emmett Darrow, a religious man who believes its his duty to God to promote atomic bombs.

Production on the show’s second season will kick off in April and is set to debut sometime in 2015.
