Tom Towles, horror actor, dies at 65

Horror movie character actor Tom Towles died Sunday as a result of a stroke suffered last Thursday, per Variety. He was 65 years old.

In his 30-plus-year career, Towles racked up a number of credits. He had a bit part in Sidney Lumet’s 1975 classic Dog Day Afternoon, later picking up roles in Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer, the 1990 Night of the Living Dead remake, a fake trailer during Grindhouse, and House of 1000 Corpses. House’s director Rob Zombie took to Instagram to give his condolences.

Towles appeared in several TV shows, too, from NYPD Blue, L.A. Law, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Seinfeld, and ER.
