Younger, from Sex and the City creator Darren Star, stars Sutton Foster as Liza Miller, a 40-year-old recently divorced mom who’s been out of the workforce way too long. When applying for publishing jobs, she quickly realizes that the only way to land a position is if she’s 15 years younger. So, with the help of a few highlights and a can-do attitude, Liza poses as a 26-year-old and snags a job, working alongside Kelsey Peters (played by pop singer and actress Hilary Duff).

Foster recently sat down with EW‘s Tim Stack to discuss what it was like working with Duff, filming in Brooklyn (where she discovered hipsters are a real thing), and how she got into character.

“I just turned 40,” Foster said, “so all of the sudden I’ve become that person that I’ve been under a rock obviously for the past 15 years. And I look up and I’m like, ‘Oh, that’s what young people are up to, and that’s what’s in?’ I had no clue.”

Younger airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET on TV Land.
