“Pop the trunk.”

These three simple words mean more than you could know for Justified showrunner Graham Yost, who spoke to EW about a Justified shootout he didn’t have the chance to actually film.

So we brought Yost’s dream to life, in animated form, at least, for the next installment of EW‘s Scene Unseen, which features movie and TV moments that were scripted but never filmed.

Yost described one such moment to us from Justified‘s final season, specifically from the sixth episode, “Alive Day,” which involves a shootout with Raylan Givens, Tim Gutterson, and villains Ty Walker and Choo-Choo. But Yost had bigger plans for the showdown, including a bullet-ridden roadway chase and those three little words, “Pop the trunk.”

Watch below to see the scene come to life, with animation from Leah Shore assisted by Chrissy Fellmeth and sound by Bobb Barito.
