After playing a father-daughter duo in Crazy Stupid Love, Steve Carell and Emma Stone will once again share the screen, this time as bitter rivals. According to Deadline, the two recent Oscar nominees will star in Battle of the Sexes, a retelling of the monumental 1973 tennis match between Billie Jean King and Bobby Riggs.

The Fox Searchlight production also has assembled an impressive team behind the camera. Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris, who together directed Carell in Little Miss Sunshine, will helm, with Simon Beaufoy—who reportedly worked with King—providing the script.

Deadline specified that the film’s tone will be comparable to Little Miss Sunshine‘s and that Fox Searchlight is eyeing a 2016 release date, which would likely beat two other similar projects to the punch. HBO had previously lined up Elizabeth Banks and Paul Giamatti for its own version of the story, while Will Ferrell is connected to the Riggs role on a film called Match Maker.
