Cumberbitches, Directioners and Hiddlestoners will have to make room for a new fandom—the Milifans. Young women on Twitter and Tumblr are now professing their undying love for British Labour Party leader Edward Miliband. In the U.S., he’s what you might call a moderate democrat.

His fandom already includes more than 400,000 Twitter followers and just over 5,500 followers on Instragram. It’s a far cry from One Direction’s 23 million Twitter followers, but it was enough for #Milifans to become a trending topic in Britain. Fangirls have even created memes for the socially progressive leader, like the nod to Taylor Swift below.

Supporters of Miliband’s opponent, Prime Minister and Leader of the Conservative Party David Cameron, are trying to get in on the action with #Cameronettes.

But it doesn’t appear to be going over quite as well.
