VH1 cans The Osbournes reboot

(MTV)

Shed one tear for The Osbournes revival: It’s not happening. EW has confirmed that VH1 put the kibosh on bringing back the revolutionary reality series.

The Hollywood Reporter first reported the news.

“We are no longer talking to the Osbournes about a series; that’s not going to happen,” VH1’s executive vice president of original programming and production Susan Levison told THR. “We wish we could have worked it out, but it just didn’t come together for us. The family has been absolutely lovely and we wish them the best. We’d love to figure out a way to work with them at some point in the future.”

The original run of the show following around Ozzy, Sharon, Kelly, and Jack ran four seasons and 52 episodes between 2002 and 2005. Sharon, the matriarch, said in November that “six to eight” episodes would be made to catch the world up with the comings and goings of the heavy metal family—if only to fulfill Ozzy’s dream of doing the show sober. Alas.
