Watch Mumford & Sons give Shura's synthy '2Shy' a makeover for BBC Radio 1

(James Minchin III)

Mumford & Sons’ first electric record, Wilder Mind, comes out May 4 via Gentlemen of the Road / Glassnote Records, and in the walk-up they stopped by BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge for a performance. Their song of choice: British synth songstress Shura’s “2Shy.”

Marcus Mumford wraps the ballad in his signature delivery over the backing of his boys’ new plugged-in toys and the result is … well, it just might be awesome. (Previous visits to the Live Lounge had them covering alt-J and Vampire Weekend.)

So far the group has released “Believe” (which they performed on SNL), “Snake Eyes,” and “The Wolf.” They will tour in support of Mind all summer, with notable festival stops like Bonnaroo and Outside Lands throughout.
