Natalie Portman might have the busiest year ever. In addition to helming her first feature, A Tale of Love And Darkness (which debuts todat at Cannes), she was recently cast to star as Ruth Bader Ginsburg in On The Basis Of Sex. Earlier this week, it was announced that she would co-star with Johnny Depp’s daughter, Lily Rose Depp, in Rebecca Zlotowski’s 1930’s drama Planetarium. And now, EW has confirmed that she’s taking on the high-profile role of Jacqueline Kennedy in Pablo Larrain’s new film, Jackie.
As Variety first reported, Darren Aronofsky, who directed Portman to an Academy Award in Black Swan, will produce the biopic that will focus on Jackie Kennedy’s life in the four days following the 1963 assassination of her husband. Larrain, the Chilean director whose 2012 film, No, was nominated for a Best Foreign Language Film Oscar, is aiming to begin production on Jackie at the end of the year.
