Kathy Najimy is coming aboard Unforgettable as a series regular.
EW has confirmed Najimy’s addition to the show, centered around a female detective (Poppy Montgomery) who is capable of remembering everything but the day of her sister’s murder. It’s just one of the changes the series is going through right now as it moves from CBS to A&E for its fourth season. The Hollywood Reporter first announced Najimy’s casting.
The actress will be playing a former street cop named Rachel. Sharp as a tack, Rachel is tough and had the political ambition necessary to get her the job as head of the Major Cases Department at the NYPD. She believes in the division between a boss and the people who work under her, but she does miss being out on the street and is willing to work a case when duty calls.
Unforgettable was canceled after its initial run on CBS but brought back for two more seasons before being officially canceled last October.
The show was picked up by A&E in February for a 13-episode fourth season, which began production this week and is set to premiere later this year.
