Nicolas Cage is reuniting with the director who helped him win his Best Actor Oscar.
EW can confirm that Cage will work with Leaving Las Vegas director Mike Figgis on Exit 147, in which Cage will play a policeman. Variety first reported the news.
The arc of Cage’s cop will be one of several interconnected stories, including a man Cage’s character arrests and a woman who is trying to break free from an abusive relationship. All of these characters will become locked in a series of “mind games,” but little else is known about the film. Hopefully it meets all the key qualities of a classic Nicolas Cage film.
Exit 147 is written by Travis Milloy (Pandorum). Figgis and Cage’s Leaving Las Vegas was nominated for another three Oscars in addition to Cage’s win, including Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay nominations for Figgis.
