Has 'The View' found a replacement for Rosie O'Donnell?

(Jeff Neira, Lou Rocco/ABC)

If the sentiment shared by host Whoopi Goldberg is any indication, The View may be close to finding a replacementor twofor Rosie O’Donnell.

On Thursday’s episode of the ABC talk show, Goldberg told viewers that frequent guest hosts Raven-Symoné and comedienne Michelle Collins are not only returning to the panel Friday, but “we are trying to make it permanent, so write in to everybody,” she added.

ABC hasn’t said whether viewers have any say on picking an O’Donnell replacement bu Raven-Symoné has certainly become a crowd favorite. She and Collins have guest-hosted on the daytime talk show multiple times alongside newbies Nicolle Wallace and Rosie Perez.

A spokeswoman for the show said no decision has been made.

O’Donnell returned to the talk show last fall only to leave in February amid rumors that she and Goldberg did not get along.  The show’s creator and longtime host Barbara Walters told Vanity Fair this month that “Rosie and Whoopi together was not peaches and cream. And I don’t think we needed the two of them together.”  Wallace, meantime, told People last month it was “a year of ups and downs, but we’ve been having a great time.”
