Doctor Who star Peter Capaldi to appear at Comic-Con

(BBC America)

Fans of Doctor Who are used to seeing star Peter Capaldi’s Time Lord in the seemingly infinite interior of his ship, the TARDIS. But how will the Scottish actor handle Comic-Con’s smaller, but still dauntingly capacious, Hall H?

The BBC has announced that Capaldi, his costars Jenna Coleman and Michelle Gomez, and the show’s executive producers Steven Moffat and Brian Minchin will all be attending the Doctor Who panel at this year’s event in San Diego, which will takes place in Hall H on Thursday, July 9. This will be Capaldi’s first visit to Comic-Con.

“Tales of San Diego Comic-Con are told in awe on every set around the known fantasy/sci-fi production world,” the actor said in a statement. “It’s become a fabled kingdom. One I am thrilled to find myself heading for. And to appear in the legendary Hall H, is a further twist to the cosplay and comic madness I may never recover from.”

The new season of Doctor Who will premiere this fall with a two-part, Moffat-penned adventure,The Magician’s Apprentice and The Witch’s Familiar.
