A documentary about the late Chris Farley will debut in select theaters and on Spike this summer.
Virgil Films acquired distribution rights to I Am Chris Farley, a doc from directors Brent Hodge and Derik Murray which focuses on Farley’s life. The film includes interviews with Farley’s fellow Saturday Night Live stars Adam Sandler, Mike Myers and David Spade, as well as members of Farley’s family and other celebrities. Back in March, Tom Arnold tweeted about his involvement.
I Am Chris Farley will premiere in select theaters on Aug. 1, followed by a television premiere Aug. 10 on Spike. An on-demand release will follow on Aug. 11.
Farley died in 1997 after a drug overdose.
