Could Emily Blunt be the girl inThe Girl on the Train?
EW has confirmed the actress is in talks to star in DreamWorks’ adaptation of Paula Hawkins bestselling novel. The Wrap reports that Tate Taylor (The Help) is on board to direct from a script by Erin Cressida Wilson (Secretary).
The psychological thriller tells the story of Rachel, a lonely and spectacularly unreliable narrator who becomes a little too involved with the lives of the couple she spies from afar during her daily train ride. The book was an instant smash when it came out in January (EW awarded it an A), selling a million copies within months of being published and acquiring some pretty impressive fans along the way. Stephen King—who knows a little something about writing suspense—tweeted, “The Girl on the Train, by Paula Hawkins: really great suspense novel. Kept me up most of the night. The alcoholic narrator is dead perfect.”
